126 Alma Toscana Italy

This painting from a photo from our vacation with Smiths in Italy has been claimed by Kim.  This interestingly goes along with the one she picked from my Mom's painting which was a balcony picture from France.  This is a theme I don't think she has recognized and neither did i until Irene mentioned it This was painted on 300 lb gessoed paper with watercolor, pastel, and acrylic.  A trully mixed media painting.  It is a full sheet.  It had a grandma on the balcony but it looked more like a toad so i changed it from a door to a window and then put a curtain in front of it with a wind blowing.  I Like it now and so does Kim.  This is a full sheet watercolor, 30 x 22 ".Posted by Picasa

Singapore Bukit Panjang Mall

Sorry Dinesh, this actually is the first of architectural pictures where i am getting the perspective more correct. Do you still like it. Painted from Amy and Dinesh's condo across the street. The feature of course is Starbucks WHICH DELIVERS!?! Amy Dinesh and John were out and I was having time alone and decided to try my hand again at correct perspective. Amy and Dinesh live in a wonderful place which she has decorated wonderfully and unique and they are very very hospitable. We have never stayed long enough to wear out our welcome and we keep extending the time each time we visit. love you guys.

Chattahoochee Urban Park

This is a start of some architectual pictures, actually the porch at Bethany Oaks in Madison was the start. This was painted during the Great Chattahoochee Paint Out sponsored by the Roswell Tourism and Jackson Gallery and CNC. Since I was out for the day with no responsibilities I managed to draw this small painting (9x12 w/c) with a ruler in 3 1/2 hrs. only because of no distractions. It is an urban park under the overpass of Holcomb Bridge with joggers, bikers, fisherman, canoeists, kayakers etc. but no one paying any more attention to anyone else by themselves. and then it took three hours to paint. I like the results a lot. But I could never be paid enough for the time and sweat put in it. As perhaps most artists feel. heat index was well over 100, code orange day, but it sure felt great to put in a long days work with great results, hope you agree!!

Summertime

Summer is here and the kids have been signed up for the Tennis Mini Camp for 4 - 7 year old and since Reese is four and Sean is 7, it was a no brainer. The class is imaginative in teaching the basics but twice during the hour is ball pick up time and of course they both have their own style.

Duckie is Scared

Another collaboration between Reese and I, I draw, she chooses her colors and paints away. I do think I see something in the shadows.

Susan in Cobalt

While Peter and Alice were here, I wanted them to take a picture home for their house, Alice picked out a large watercolor with reddish and yellow pansies and Peter picked this one. I have a whole series of "susans", they are lovely flowers, easy to grow, hide many faults in the garden and are so hardy. Peter likes them in his garden to grow, now they will be in his office.

Florida Winter in the Old Days

This is a plein air painting of the Rock Garden Nursery in Vero Beach Indian River County. A bright sunny and wonderfully warm day to paint outside. Certainly not like this previous month. The cold came down and stayed in GA and went down to FLA according to our good friends Jonathan and Judy who stopped by on their way north to Elgin IL.

This is a great still life. Limited appeal to any but an artist . Curious as to how other artists work and what their studios look like, i am a sucker for those articles in art magazines.

banner completed for etsy shop

Irene and I worked on this for an hour through theetsy program and gimp program and came up with tis. The colors are not right on the printing the all originals all the time should be black and valerie gallerie is spelled wrong and that should be in red but it was remarkably easier than I thought and I am real pleased with the results. what do you think. visit the shop at the link on the side.

I am in the canoe behind - taking the picture and doing a poor poor job of canoeing and Irene and Pam and Daniel are out ahead of us on the river tour we were taking sponsored by the Chattahoochee Nature Center. great evening fun.

topkapi Tree tapestry

This is the watercolor done to get proportions, color ideas and
sense of place where I visited. It was so bright and sunny this
day - we visited the topkapi palace and there were so many things
to paint, I wish I was on a painting vacation and not a tour with a schedule but I did see a lot. the watercolor is 14 x 20 and for sale
unframed for $100.
